Camp College - Get2College

JUNIORS! Please mark your calendars for CAMP COLLEGE June 2-5! This is a FREE summer program offered through Get2College. In order to qualify, students must meet one of the following criteria: free or reduced lunch, be the first in their family to attend college, or be a minority student. Students will need daily transportation to arrive and depart from Get2College. The staff of Get2College will be taking students on three college tours. They will also review Financial Literacy, Financial Aid, Networking Skills, and Job Interviewing Skills. They will serve as mentors to students throughout their senior year (2026-2027). Dual Enrollment Application Session with Holmes Community College

Rising juniors and seniors who selected dual enrollment courses for next year should attend the upcoming Dual Enrollment Application Session on April 23, 2026. Holmes Community College representatives will be at Ridgeland High to assist students with the registration process. Mark your calendars so you don't miss this event!

Jackson Heart Study's Science, Language Arts & Mathematics Summer Program (SLAM)

SLAM is open to current 8th, 9th, and 10th grade students interested in strengthening their academic skills and exploring STEM and related career pathways. The program will take place June 1-26, 2026, and students who successfully complete the program will receive a stipend.

Career Fair

On Wednesday, November 19th, from 8:30 a.m. - 11:45 a.m., Ridgeland High School will host its annual career fair! Junior and seniors will be able to meet and visit with approximately 30 businesses and professionals to gain valuable insight into various professions and industries.  

FAFSA and MAAPP Application Information

The 2025–2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open ! Seniors planning to attend college or career/technical school should complete the FAFSA as soon as possible.

We will host FAFSA Day on Thursday, November 6, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the RHS Library. To sign up for an appointment, please copy and paste the following link in your browser: https://calendly.com/jackson-get2college-center/ridgeland-hs-fafsa-day.

Students and parents should bring:

  • Social Security number

  • 2023 tax information (student and parent, if applicable)

  • FSA ID (if already created; if not, create one at studentaid.gov)

In addition, the Mississippi Aid Application (MAAAP) will open on October 1 at msfinancialaid.org. Seniors must complete this application to be considered for state grants and scholarships.

Delta Academy and Delta GEMS

Madison (MS) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has two programs specifically for young ladies ages 11-18 - Delta Academy and Delta Gems.

The purpose of these programs is the following:

  1. To instill the need to excel academically;
  2. To provide tools that enable girls to sharpen and enhance their skills to achieve high levels of academic success;
  3. To assist girls in proper goal setting and planning for their futures in high school and beyond; and
  4. To create compassionate, caring, and community-minded young women by actively involving them in service learning and community service opportunities.

The Delta GEMS and ACADEMY programs offer a road map for college and career planning through activities that provide opportunities for self-reflection and individual growth. Delta GEMS, like Delta Academy, is implemented by chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Delta GEMS participants have the opportunity to define and“Discover their individual Brilliance.”

If you feel like this program would benefit your daughter please complete the attached application and submit it on or before September 19, 2025, by noon.

College Tours for Seniors

On October 21st, seniors will take a tour of the University of Southern Mississippi OR Jackson State University. Sign up lists will be available starting Tuesday, September 9th, at 8:00 a.m. in the Counselors' Office. Students should sign up on ONE list ONLY and pick up a college specific permission slip. The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, September 30th. The deadline to return permission slips is Friday, October 3rd. Please contact a counselor for more information. 

College Application Week

Seniors, College Application Week is slated for October 14-17, 2025. Various colleges will be here to meet and help you with completing college applications. This event will take place in the RHS Media Center each day between 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. 

Senior Sunrise

Seniors! Rise and shine on Thursday, September 26th at 6:00 a.m.! We’re kicking off the morning with food, fun, and fellowship—just for the Class of 2026! Don’t miss out— save the date and meet us on the RHS Football Field! 

Cap and Gown Orders

Mr. Hartlein, with Herff Jones, will be here on September 10th, at 10:15 a.m., to present to the Class of 2026 about graduation annoucements, apparel, and caps/gowns. Additionally, if seniors haven't ordered their class ring, he will have information about that as well. On September 24th during lunch, he will return to pick up orders and payments. Orders can also be placed online. 

College Fair

On Thursday, September 4th, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, our annual College Fair will take place in the RHS Gymnasium. This event is for juniors and seniors only.
